Just this week, U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced Wednesday that the agency is investing $1.4 billion into rural economies through job training, business loans and the expansion of technical assistance. Missouri will be receiving more than $34 million across the state. Here’s a breakdown of what rural Missouri farmers and businesses will receive:

USDA Awards $34 Million to Rural Missouri Businesses

GOP Block, Then Take the Credit for Success

While GOP lawmakers constantly attack President Biden, rural constituents in their home districts will benefit. What’s more is that these very same lawmakers who oppose President Biden at every turn will be the first in line to take credit for these federal government funds that are being sent to rural Missouri farmers and business owners.

Rural Missouri Voters Need the Facts

Missouri Dems ought to be sharing this information far and wide. We need to make sure rural Missouri voters have the facts. We need to remind them that this money wouldn’t be coming to their local areas without President Biden and Democratic lawmakers. These funds will boost local economies and pay for worker salaries. They will allow farmers and businesses to expand, resulting in higher real estate tax revenues for local public school districts. Tangentially, the money will support other businesses in the area such as hardware stores, farm supply companies, gas stations, and other retail.

Missouri Democrats should refer to this information when posting to social media posts, when making calls to local radio stations, and when writing Letters to the Editor. It’s important for rural voters to know the facts, and to let them know that Democratic lawmakers get things done for the American people. We need to elect more of them.
