Yeah, that’s a nice retrospective on the supply-side econ scam. The only thing I’d add to Hartmann’s history lesson is the role the right-wing noise machine, i.e., Fox, Limbaugh, etc., played in the con. After the Fairness Doctrine was repealed during the Reagan years the supply-side propagandists began convincing working class people this nonsense was good for them through these media outlets. It really couldn’t have happened otherwise, I think. And the marketing has been so effective that even today, after trickle-down economics has resulted in calamity for the middle class, these same working stiffs are still convinced it’s the way to go. Remarkable.

BTW, Arthur Laffer, who was noted in the article as one of the architects of the supply-side coup, was recently named in a Ponzi scheme. How very fitting. Ha.
